During the first Burmese-Siamese War the Pattani Sultanate had send a small fleets to reinforce the Siamese Ayuttaya. However upon seeing the Thai forces are at disadvabtage against the Pegu Empire, they switched side and set to pillage the Ayuttayan instead.

The Malayan Prince of Pattani use the existing alliance as the pretext to enter the city. Once they were inside they set out to capture thr Thai king, possibly for hostaging. The king however manage to escape and so the Pattani price signal the retreat but he himself was trapped and slaughter to a man.
