Arema Cronus striker Cristian Gonzales is eager to participate in this year’s Indonesia Super League despite offers from Malaysian and Thai clubs.

The league remains in limbo as a dispute between participating clubs ant the Indonesian Board of Professional Athletes (BOPI), who declared that Arema have failed to meet various requirements, remains unresolved.

The competition has faced three postponements since the beginning of this year, raising concerns from players regarding their future.

“We don’t have training sessions with the club anymore; the players already left the clubs,” Gonzales told Malang Post on Tuesday.

“I don’t want to leave for other clubs, but I’m waiting for the best solution. I have offers to play in Malaysia and Thailand in case I can’t continue my career in Indonesia.

The Uruguayan-born striker became the first naturalised player to represent Indonesia, making his senior his debut on November 2010 in a friendly match against Timor Leste.

“I still respect my current contract with Arema, but if the club can’t compete in this season then I will talk to the management to ask permission to leave the club,” the 39-year-old added.
