The present tense in English is used:
to talk about the present eg. บอกเล่าปัจจุบัน

He works at McDonald’s.
He has worked there for three months now.
He is working at McDonald’s.
He has been working there for three months now.
London is the capital of Britain.

to talk about the future eg. บอกเล่าอนาคต

The next train leaves this evening at 1700 hours.
I’ll phone you when I get home.
He is meeting Peter in town this afternoon.
I’ll come home as soon as I have finished work.
You will be tired out after you have been working all night.

Something that is true in the present: บอกเล่าสิ่งที่เป็นความจริงในปัจจุบัน
He lives in London.

Something that happens again and again in the present: บอกเล่าสิ่งที่เกิดซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่าในปัจจุบัน
I play football every weekend.

We use words like sometimes, often, always, and never (adverbs of frequency) with the present tense: บ่อยครั้งจะใช้กับ adverbs of frequency
I sometimes go to the cinema.
She never plays football.

Something that is always true: บอกเล่าสิ่งที่จริงเสมอ
The adult human body contains 206 bones.
Light travels at almost 300,000 kilometres per second.

The past tense in English is used:
to talk about the past: เล่าอดีต
He worked at McDonald’s. He had worked there since July.
He was working at McDonald’s. He had been working since July.

to refer to the present or future in conditions: เล่าปัจจุบันหรืออนาคตในเงื่อนไข
He could get a new job if he really tried.
If Jack was playing they would probably win.

and hypotheses: และสมมติฐาน
It might be dangerous. Suppose they got lost.
I would always help someone who really needed help.

and wishes: และปรารถนา
I wish it wasn’t so cold.

In conditions, hypotheses and wishes, if we want to talk about the past, we always use the past perfect: ถ้าเงื่อนไข สมมติฐาน ปรารถนา ถ้าเล่าในอดีตต้องใช้ past perfect
I would have helped him if he had asked.
It was very dangerous. What if you had got lost?
I wish I hadn’t spent so much money last month.

perfect tense คือ เหตุการณ์ (action) complete สมบูรณ์ ณ เวลาหนึ่งในปัจจุบัน (present perfect) อดีต (past perfect) อนาคต (future perfect).

หลักการ มันก็แค่นี้แหละ ท่องให้เข้าหัวเลยว่า action มันเกิดและเสร็จสมบูรณ์ใน จุด เวลา ดังกล่าว
I have been here since this morning. (present perfect คือเหตุการณ์สมบูรณ์ในปัจจุบัน มาถึงแล้ว)
I had been here before you arrived. (past perfect คือ ณ เวลาในอดีตตอนจุดที่คุณมาถึง ก็มีเหตุการณ์เกิดขึ้นก่อนสมบูรณ์แล้วคือฉันมาถึงเรียบร้อยแล้วก่อนคุณ)
By the time you arrive, the children will have already gone to bed.
