CT SCAN OF WHOLE ABDOMEN
A 13-year-old girl with chronic abdominal pain and weight loss
TECHNIQUE: MDCT was performed through whole abdomen without and with contrast administration in
late arterial, portovenous and delay phases.
FINDINGS: No previous study to comparison.
-The study reveals normal attenuation of liver parenchyma without focal mass lesion. No intra or extra
hepatic duct dilatation is noted. Thin-walled gallbladder contains no opaque stone, Hepatic and portal veins
are patent.
-Pancreas, spleen and bilateral adrenal glands appear unremarkable.
-Minimal ascites in pelvic cavity is found. No pneumoperitoneum is observed.
-No gross bowel mass is detected.
-Multiple small mesenterie lymph nodes are seen, measured upto 0.5 cm in short axs; mesenterc adenitis
is suspected.
-No significant enlarged intraabdominal ymph node is seen.
-Normal size and nephrogram of both kidneys without hydronephrosis or stone are seen.
-Thin-walled urinary bladder contains no stone.
-Uterus appears unremarkable. No adnexal mass is found.
-Visible lung are clear. No pleural effusion or pericardial effusion is noted.
-No bony destruction is found.
IMPRESSIONS:
-Multiple small mesenteric lymph nodes; mesenteric adenitis is suspected.
-Minimal ascites in pelvic cavity
-No gross intraabdominal mass is detected.
