To be honest, I was really upset with my boyfriend. I went on a business trip to Los Angeles, California and just got back tonight. My boyfriend was supposed to pick me up at the Suvarnabhumi Airport at 9.30pm but he came an hour late. I flew 20 hours; I was so tired and super starving! He’s been acting weird lately. I couldn’t help to believe that he was seeing another girl. Sad.
Of course! he denied seeing other girls when he arrived. But I was still upset anyway. So he took me to this restaurant in town called Daiki in Soi Sukhumvit 53. He knew me well. Good food would definitely calm me down. I asked for Japanese and here came my Japanese dishes!
We arrived at Daiki at 11:30am, it turns out they are open until 1am everyday. Marvelous!
When I opened the menu, my stomach started growling. 555 Everything looked so good. หายโกรธเลยอ่ะ
We ordered a lot of food. I can’t wait to tell you all about Sashimi Boat, but let’s start with some starters we had.
1. Salad (with fried silver fish) topped with Shrimp Roe and Japanese Mayo Dressing. Testy! Yummy! I have tried this dish from several places including a few expensive Japanese restaurants around Bangkok and in a few hotels. I have to tell you, this dish at Daiki could really beat those at expensive places! Jing jing. Sweet taste from mayo dressing, salty from silver fish and shrimp roe, and crispy. Two word to describe: กลมกล่อม น้ำลายไหล.
The whole dish…gone in 60 seconds. 5555
2. Another simple dish I fell in love with was Salmon Tataki served with Seaweed Salad. Simple yet ridiculously satisfying! Not only the salmon was fresh, but also the mayo-wasabi dressing on the salad made this dish so mouth watering! This is so U-MA-MI (กลมกล่อม). I’m drooling while talking about this. Also gone in 60 seconds.
3. Next menu: Deep Fried Whole Fish!
“ทำหน้าตาหน้ากลัวนักใช่มั้ย กินไส้กินพุงซะเลย!” คุณแฟนพูดๆไปกินไป …. อุ่ย!
4. Here comes QUEEN OF THE NIGHT!!! Sashimi Boat! AROI MAK!
Sashimi Boat was huge! 3,000 Baht.. I know the price is a bit high but if you see the real boat, believe me it’s really enough for 4-6 people. We didn’t think we could finish them all. But everything was so amazing. The raw fish and seafood were really fresh. I mean this is the key of delicious sashimi and it was properly cut into appropriate size too. I hate it when my sashimi is too big. All thumbs and toes UP for Daiki! I could still taste the sweetness of Toro and Tuna in my mouth! Of course, my favorite was Toro that melted in my mouth, Uni, Hotate and Sweet Shrimp. My boyfriend grinned at me when he caught me eating the last piece of Uni. He hadn’t had any. 555 But if he loves me, he should sacrifice right? Aroi mak ah!
I would really recommend this restaurant if you find yourself hungry or looking for some decent Japanese to eat at night. They are open everyday until 1am! As their current promotion, they are also offering free salmon sashimi! ชอบอ่ะ
I should be sleeping. Reviewing this makes me hungry again! Thank you my love for taking me to this amazing restaurant. Khob Khun Mak Ka!
But maybe the reason that I could not sleep wasn’t Jet Lag. I couldn’t stop thinking how my boyfriend knew about Daiki? He knew that the restaurant won’t be closed until 1am. Do you think he brought some other girls here before me? Am I thinking too much?
