I earned a Bachelor of Arts with an academic major in International Relations and a minor in Governments with the secondclass honorsfrom the department of Political Science, ........... The purpose of this statement is to inform my view of life, my study background and my long term goal and also show that I am deeply interested in the ................(Graduate Program).
I love to study Political Science, specifically with the emphasis on international relations since I was in high school. To study Political Science is to learn to understand human nature rooted in political science. This fields of study trains me to analyze the domestic politics and international relations from many aspects. After I finished the undergraduate program, I have earned a versatile set of skills that can be applied in a wide range of interested careers. In addition, the knowledge and skills acquired through a degree in political science provide an excellent preparation for me to pursue further education. Following with the rapid changes of the world, I expect to gain better understand such changes in the world with flexible attitude and broad perspectives.
During my collage life, I am interested in East Asian and Southeast Asian studies. I have studied many courses which are related to my interests. I obtained an A for these two classes “Foreign Policyof Southeast Asian Countries”and Politics and “Government of South East Asia”. It can reflect my hard-work and dedication to succeed. Besides, Apart from my study, I have participated in many activities, which levels up my skills. I have worked in number of voluntary projects in my faculty for four years which was in staff member’s positions for many of them. My skills and experience as following; When I was in freshmen I was participated in ...... Then, I had a training period from 4 April to 27 May 2011 at Legalization Division Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the end of my fourth year of studiesI attended a study tour with my faculty from 9-11 Oct 2011 at Singapore. Therefore, Getting these along with study, I learnt how to effectively manage my time and how to cope with pressure when work was overloaded or conflict was happened. Also,I feel my experience in all areas could be beneficial in my education or my career in the future. Plus, I have also taken the TOEIC test with the score of..., which prove that all of my English speaking listening reading skills are fair. So, the... program via designated domestic universities which is really close to my interests, experiences and skills I posses.
My motivation for applying this program which I choose Political Science as a field of study which is the same as my previous degree course isthe education competitiveness of Korea is in high level relatively with the higher educational institutions in Korea. I decided to choose ..... There are several reasons for this; Firstly, ... is established since 1923 with the honors of .....which shows that ..... was best known university for long time and located in the city of Daegu, the third largest city in South Korea. Thus, I could drink deep of peaceful atmosphere which is the best for studying combines the best modern and traditional Korea. Also, ..... is one of the Korea University that their graduated students are certificated to work for Thailand government organization by the Office of the Civil Service Commission of Thailand. So, this is useful for me to further return to work in Thailand.Secondly, My currently interest in East Asian and Southeast Asian studies, specifically ASEAN Regionalism, is covered to East Asian countries and also Thailand. And, Korea is one of the countries that I am interested in. Unfortunately, I have not ever study Korean studies before and Thailand has few numbers of experts or the Institute. So, I wish to have various experiences from other countries. Then, I decided to study in South Korea where long tradition and culture and found this program......, which provided by the .......... And, the department of Political Science in ..... which is related to my interests.Thirdly, Korea has been playing a vital role in East Asian history for many millennia, as measured both by the richness of its own indigenous traditions and institutions and by its cultural interactions with China and Japan. Thus, an understanding of Korean history and culture is not only important in and of itself; it is also central to fully understanding the larger world of East Asia. So as the same Eastern cultural region I will be able to adapt without much trouble during my study. Furthermore, Korean culture, language and the popularity of K-Pop show that Korean-wave is taking a place as not only the culture of Korea but also as the culture of people all around the world.

In my opinion, 21st century is the era of Asia. We live in a world of porous borders, in which relationships between people, groups,firms,non-governmantal organizations and states. One of the most important issue is the high levels of complexity and integration of economics politics and cultural. As a Thai which is one of the ASEAN members. I feel the rush of ASEAN regionalism.So,I decided to choose an academic major is International Politics. Because, I would like to study the role of the state and other agents both in traditional diplomatic interactions and increasingly salient transnational problems and processes. My primary goal of study is not only to study all aspects of Political Science, particularly with East Asian and Southeast Asian studies, but also do the research about Thailand-South Korea relations in the context of ASEAN regionalism.
My study plan focuses on Korean and Thailand applied academic research on the politics, economies, societies, and cultures of East and Southeast Asian countries. Moreover, Following the rise of China, the future of the Korean peninsula and the change of ASEAN regionalism which is affected to Thailand-South Korea relations.So, In the phase of ASEAN regionalism I would like to analyze the increasing interdependence between Thailand-South Korea. Basically, South Korea began its relationship with ASEAN in 1989. And Thailand23 has now become an extremely important trade and investment partner for Seoul. Therefore, The title of my research is ASEAN Regionalism: Thailand-South Korea relations. South Korea is aroused as one of the influential powers in the world reflected in the relations between Thailand and South Korea which is a partnership arouses me of several questions “What’s exactly ASEAN integration which affected the relations between Thailand and South Korea” Or Will South Korea directly gain plentiful consequences through ASEAN integration in terms of Thailand-South Korea relations” Accordingly, I want to figure out the interactions between Thailand and South Korea.In consist of the appearance of ASEAN regionalism and the role of Thailand-South Korea relations which demonstrate the developing process of ASEAN-South Korearelations in this Era.
The department of Political Science in ... has many classes such as Theories of Inter-Korean Relations, Modern Korean Political Thought, and Methodology of Korean Politics which really suits my needs. I am willing to work on my Korean and hope to have proficient in Korean the same as English first. After that I will put all my efforts to get all the experience which helps me for further achievement in my research. I am certainly that KNU will be able to have good study environment and academic experiences and I will be able to fulfill my goal of study in this field with the excellent teaching staff and academic supervisors who are outstanding in the research, educational capacities and in directing the focus of their studies by developing a specialization liked to their intellectual interests and professional goals.
