When my neighbor learned that our knitting group collects yarn from the public and
that we turn it into beautiful & functional pieces to be distributed to various charitable organizations,
she donated a bagful of yarn. In it, there were two skeins of green/golden yellow/brownish yarn.
A design (crochet granny squares blanket) popped into mind. To complete this project,
I ended up buying the golden yellow, brown and dark-olive green yarn. The result is:
Since there was still a lot of yarn left, another project ensued.
However, the leftover yarn was insufficient to complete this second project.
I had to buy more of the same hues. This piece is a knitted blanket with a chevron/zig-zag pattern.
There was yarn leftover; thus, some hats were made.
These pieces were donated to an interfaith charity to keep some youngsters warm this winter.
