As mentioned in the last post (
https://ppantip.com/topic/41570593/comment2 ), there is an invitation to write a short article
for a group discussion to practice writing English.
As it seems to be an excellent idea, this article qualifies as the first. If grammar or contextual corrections are necessary,
I would appreciate them.
This short article intends to explain the toxicity of boasting. Almost all of us experience someone who constantly brags about
one's greatness. However, this person might be described as a braggart if they are a real show-off. Therefore, it is probably best
not to brag about ourselves to others. Rather than boasting about ourselves, let others do it for us. There is no point in bragging.
It may seem tedious, unlikeable, self-centered, or you are trying to compensate for a lack of self-confidence if you brag.
To feel self-worth and self-confidence, taking pride in our accomplishments is essential, so bragging about yourself to yourself
like "Oh, I'm proud of me for passing the English exam" is not only okay but healthy if done humbly. To be proud, one should feel
self-respect and value: a feeling of satisfaction with one's achievements. Self-esteem is integral to individual self-perception and
vital to healthy self-esteem, but the problem with bragging is that it is a sign of excessive pride.
