MRI AND MRA OF THE BRAIN
Clinical case of dementia.
TECHNIQUE : Axial T1W, T2W, FLAIR, GRE T2, ADC and DWI
Coronal T2W/GRE T2 and sagittal T1W/T2W, 3D TOF and MIPFINDINGS :
- The study reveals aging brain atrophy.
- No acute or subacute infarction is shown.
- No intra- or extraaxial mass lesion is presented.
- No intra- or extraaxial hemorrhage is detected.
- No dilatation of the ventricular system is seen.
- No shifting of the midline structure or evidence of the brain herniation is
detected.
- Mild mucoperiosteal thickening at both ethmoid and maxillary sinuses are
noted.
- Both mastoid air-cells are clear.
- Orbits, optic nerves, and cavernous sinus are unremarkable.
- Pituitary gland appears normal.
- Venous sinus system is patented.
- No abnormal group of vessel is also seen.
- On MRA images, the study shows no AVM or aneurysm.
- MCA, ACA, PCA, SCA and PICA-AICA are patented.
- Both common carotid and vertebra-basilar arteries are patented.
IMPRESSION :
Aging brain atrophy.
- No acute or subacute infarction.
- No intra- or extraaxial mass lesion.
