And now one Manchester United fan decided to take it one step further – by getting a tattoo marking the German’s mistakes.
“Karius is a legend” the inking on his right leg read, along with the date Liverpool FC lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
The tattoo sparked a furious wars of words between Liverpool and Manchester United fans on social media.
“More interested in Liverpool than the club he ‘supports’. Speaks volumes,” said one Reds fan.
“When your whole season relies on Liverpool losing. Kind of sad where the ‘greatest club in Premier League history’ has ended up,” added another.
