Kanchanaburi trip 3 Days 2 Nights
We plan to travel on 15-17 December 2017. We departed from Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University at 3:30 a.m. by renting a van. The journey from Nakhonratchasima to Kanchanaburi takes about 5 hours. We arrived at Kanchanaburi at 8:30 a.m. and we had breakfast at Mae Bua Come restaurant.
At 09:00 a.m. We went to Wat Tham Suea. This temple is one of famous place in Kanchanaburi.
The highlight of this temple is the large beautiful Buddha image, which you can be seen in the distance because it’s located on the hill.
This temple has 157 stairs. If who wants to exercise to walk up the stairs but if anyone does not want to walk up, we recommend taking the tram. The fee is only 10 baht per person.
For those who wear pants or short skirts. The temple is renting sarong for 20 baht. We went to see the architecture around it, which is very beautiful. We can see 360 degree views of the Mae Klong River in front of the temple.
Then at 11:00 a.m. we went to The Bridge of The River Kwai. This place is beautiful scenery filled with the river. The surrounding area has many souvenir shops. For those who want to go sightseeing or take a photo. We recommend going to the morning because it's a good weather and it's suitable for photography.
At 11:50 a.m. We went to Malika R.E.124. It's a traditional Thai place. Concept in this place is a walk in the simulated city dating back to the reign of 4-5. The highlight is the atmosphere inside simulates an ancient city such as place, food, activities and dress.
Before we went inside, we did to buy a card and exchange money first. The ticket price is 200 baht and the cost of Thai dress with an umbrella is 250 baht. For children is 120 baht.
Inside it is divided into different zones such as eating zone, ancient house zone and etc. The interior is beautiful with much ancient architecture. Including some foods are antique foods that is hard to find in this place.
At 3:30 p.m. We went to The Forest Resort. When we got down from the van, the first thing to touch was the nice atmosphere. Then we went down to the counter to contact the reservation room. This is our room. Inside the room have a bed, air conditioner, fan and bathroom (No refrigerator, television and wifi).
Here are the activities we can enjoy is a rafting. We leaved the raft at 5:00 p.m. We took the time to go rafting about 1 hour.
Then at 6 o'clock, we had dinner. The food here is buffeted. It will start at 6 pm. - 8 pm. The atmosphere is quite good and there is a song to listen to lightly. After dinner was finished, we went into a room to sleep.
Day 2
We got up around 8:30 a.m. For ate breakfast at here. We departed from The Forest Resort to Sangkhlaburi which it takes about two and half hours. At 11:30 a.m. We arrived at Sangkhlaburi and we had lunch at Sangklaburi market.
At 1:20 p.m. We went to Wat Wang Wiwekaram or Uttama Temple. It is the most important temple in Sangklaburi. These temples are several buildings and each building has a beautiful architecture, according to the identity of Mon style.
When we arrived, we pay homage to Buddha image inside the hall and we walked to visit the beautiful architecture around the temple.
Next we went to Puttakaya Chedi. It’s near Wat Wang Wiwekaram and the river. In front of it are the lion statues from a big pair two staircase entrance, which it’s a good point that one must then take a photo.
Then we went to a handful of flowers and candles to pay homage to the Buddha image. Inside the pagoda resembles the balcony admiring the beautiful surroundings.
At 3:30 p.m. We went to Underwater Old Temple. We took a boat to see the ruin in the water. Price for boat hire if tour 1 temple 50 baht, tour 3 temple 70 baht or charter for about 500 baht. Include time to take the boat to go and return about 1 hour.
But if you visit this attraction in summer season, March – April in Thailand, the water is dried enough for you to walk inside the building to see how it is.
After we finished watch the temple. The next time we went to the hotel. We walked from the point of embarkation to the hotel about 500 meters. This is our accommodations named “Suan Magmai Resort”
Around 7:00 p.m. We ate dinner here. Before we eat, we had to give the room number to the hotel staff to reserve the table. The dinner here is set food like a Chinese dinner. (It’s very delicious ;)
At 7:30 p.m. We went to Walking Street Market. There are many food and souvenirs. In the middle of the market there is a native representation of the Mon children. Around 8:00 p.m. We went back to our hotel.
Day 3
Today we woke up at 5:40 a.m. to did merit at Mon Bridge. The highlight of this event is the wearing of Mon dress.
After we finished the activity, we went to Mon Bridge to take a photo of the beautiful atmosphere. It’s good weather with fog. Then we went back to our hotel and ate breakfast.
At 9:30 a.m. We departed from Sangkhlaburi to Erawan Waterfall. It takes 4 hour to journey. Around 1:30 p.m. we arrived at Erawan Waterfall. The atmosphere is shady and there are many tourists both Thai and foreigners.
Erawan Waterfall has 7 floors. The distance from the beginning to the 7th floor is quite far. This place can only be reached at 15:30. Foamed containers and alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
Then we departed from the Erawan Waterfall at 4:40 p.m. and travel through centre Kanchanaburi for visit the souvenir shop. The next time was going back to Nakhonratchasima. We arrived at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University at 11:50 p.m.
