international student track ไม่ใช่ กสพท(central admission for thai students) นะ

- Rangsit University
(joint with Nottingham university)

1 IELTS (this is required by all inter track )
2 a letter from your school saying that you will graduate year 13(or whatever) by month…year…
3 transcript (you NEED this in thai format or they won’t accept it!)
- GPA (in format of 3.9, 4.0 etc.)
- You need “accumulated GPA” meaning that the paper need to contain your GPA for EVERY semester/term for international school equivalent of ม4,ม5,ม6
4ใบเทียบวุฒิinter to thai ม6

application process overview for the university I applied for

Rangsit
preparation wise
-for chemistry just do lots of SATS and AP because it is very similar, do focus quite a lot on the calculation part!
-for biology, go buy(สรุปชีวะม.ปลายbyพี่เต้น with ladybug cover) and focus on human biology
-interview is quite basic and is all about yourself but be sure to keep calm because they will try to provoke you

In the past, the university “simply translate” hardcore Thai syllabuses of sciences and math into english, leaving international school taught students with almost zero chance of even passing! (international syllabus contains very little “factual recall” compared to thai)

BUT in 2016, they use BMAT! as the ONLY exam. Allowing most students to compete on equal footings! Hurray!
BMAT is an aptitude test, meaning that it is designed to test your “raw abilities” so not a massive amount can be done to prepare for it. the exam comprise of three sections of ONLY 30minutes each.
1. 35almost like an IQ test: practice TSA exam first(it is easier and logic is clearer) then go on to do BMAT past paper available online. If you dont have time then just do the BMAT past paper. This section is the HARDEST to improve and it’s either you know it or you don’t.
2. 25Basic sciences: the factual recall is just GCSE level, however, the time constraint AND pit fall traps make this a lot harder. Anyway, this is the EASIEST to improve on and you should not mass up!
3. argumentative essay: Best way to prepare this is to read lots and lots of news but if you are someone who have never done it like me, then i suggest just start writing it using the question from the past paper, then compare your answer with the model answer you find in books or online. It seems hard but it gets better with practice.
For BMAT, your command of English needs to be reasonably sharp otherwise it may be quite tricky
The biggest enemy is time and careless mistakes. one mark in section 1 and 2 could separate you from hundreds of students(I’m not exaggerating) so DO NOT WASTE IT ON CARELESS MISTAKES!

It is not clear how the university weigh up each section scores and there is no cut off points, but try to get at least
5-5.5 and above for section 1
6.5 and above for section 2
3A and above for section 3

You will send your BMAT score to the university, and get called in for the interview(if it is high enough)
Prior to the interview, there is psychological tests, friendly activity and heath check up. don’t stress too much about it, the deciding factor is your BMAT score AND your interview performance

Interview was tough, i will not lie. It is in “mini interview” format
there is a total of 9 rooms with two interviewers in each. They usually give you difficult scenarios and ask for your response to test your morality, logic thinking and overall personality. My only advice is to focus on the question they ask rather than the answer you think they want. And most importantly, be honest! I was…and i got it!
example of questions was
“ถ้าแม่เพื่อนไม่สบาย ทำให้เค้าทำรายงานไม่เสร็จ รายงานนี้สำคัญมากและเค้าอาจต้องซ้ำชั้นถ้าส่งไม่ทัน เพื่อนขอลอกงานเราแต่บอกว่าจะเปลี่ยนคำพูดไม่ให้ครูรู้ เราจะให้มั้ย”
my answer was NO because letting her copy my work would be unfair on both myself and other student who shreds sweats and tears trying to complete this task. I will however help her by explaining her situation to the teacher to negotiate later dead lines, and guiding her through the process of doing this task. I also said that in this kind of situation, i need to have a firm footing, and my จุดยืน is เราไม่สามารถช่วยคนอื่นด้วยการทำผิดได้ ถึงแม้จะผิดไม่เยอะ แต่ผิดมากผิดน้อยก็ผิดเหมือนกัน ผมไม่คิดว่าการไม่อยากทำผิดจะทำให้ผมกลายเป็นคนเห็นแค่ตัว

sorry i cannot disclose anymore specific questions as that would be unfair for people who did not know this in advance.
interview is in thai btw.

Thamasart (CICM)
BMAT is also required but i did not go to interview because I already got admitted at รามา

i personally did not apply to this uni because the exam date was on the same day as Rangsit and I chose rangsit because i needed an insurance choice and i think จุฬา would be too risky for me since their exam is how rama used to be(basically translated version of thai exam)

please excuse the mistakes and typos here and there.
They sole purpose of this post is to give you guys an overview of the process i went through from being an international student(from abroad) to getting admitted at thai medical schools, because i honestly didn’t know where to begin searching when i decided to apply. hope this helps!
