Off the top of one's head [idiom]
From the knowledge you have in your memory (นึกออก); just guessing or using your memory, without taking time to think carefully or check the facts
Ex: "What's the capital of Thailand?"
"I don't know off the top of my head, but I could go and look it up."
Recognize [verb] = (KNOW / รู้จัก - จำแนกออก)
To know someone or something because you have seen or heard him or her or experienced it before. (จำได้ต่อสิ่งที่เคยเห็นหรือได้ยิน)
Ex: I hadn't seen her for 20 years, but I recognized her immediately.
Ex: He put on a large hat and glasses as a disguise and hoped no one would recognize him.
