The New Year 2017 is coming near while the year 2016 is going to say goodbye to us. It seems that we all are looking forward to welcoming and celebrating The New Year even though it'll inevitably make us grow one year older. This is simply because it's a time for new beginnings and, of course, it brings us happiness as well.
Many people make New Year resolutions , to give up smoking or drinking, stop hanging out with their friends to save money for example. Some people plan to lose weights while others change their jobs to make better progress and higher incomes.
In addition, a lot of students resolve to work harder and make upcoming year better in some ways. I often hear that they will pay more attention in class and promise to spend more time reading textbooks and less time on Facebook or computer games, in the hope of getting better grades than he did in the past year. No matter what they set, and whatever they plan, may they all achieve their goals.
By mid December, people generally begin sending New Year presents or cards together with their best wishes to their loved ones, parents, relatives, friends and teachers far and near. It's another way of expressing sincerity and respect to them. All in all, it's a period of time when everyone is filled with happiness as mentioned above. However, today I have no cards or gifts for you all on Pantip's webboard except my heartiest greetings:
