This is my first post, so please don't hate me too much
A week and a half ago, I went to a traditional Songkran festival with my Thai girlfriend in Dortmund, a town in Germany. I'm just writing to share my experience and because I would like to know how you would react, if a European guy went to a traditional festival with a Thai girl.
It started when we went to the train station at 8.30 in the morning, only to see the train leaving... So we had to wait 1 hour in the cold 5°C weather for the next train. Such a wonderful start
Finally, after 3 long hours, we arrived at the "Thai temple". To our surprise... It wasnt really a temple, it was actually just a long building.
The atmosphere was really wonderful though
there were so many people dancing, singing and just generally enjoying themselves. The food was super good too, we had Som Tam, Som Tam Bpa Ra, Mee Ko Raad, Moo Ping, Guay Tiao Luk Shin Mu, among many other things. The Som Tam Bpa Ra was super spicy though OMG, i felt like I was going to die.
After eating, we did a lucky draw. I got a lollypop, and my girlfriend (who doesn't want me to name her) got some Mama instant noodles
Then, most of the people proceded to pray, and listen to a speech given by the monk in the temple. I watched from afar as I didn't want to interrupt anything.
We didn't have a water fight because it was too cold, and the water would turn into ice before it reached you. xD #5555
I just wanted to know what you would think if you saw a Thai girl take a farang to a traditional Sangkron festival
Have a good day
