Exciting opportunities for young professionals interested in all-expense-paid short-term exchange programs in the United States! The YSEALI Professional Fellowship Program is now recruiting top-notch candidates for Spring 2016.
Selected fellows will visit the U.S. for 5 weeks, and work on projects of their interests with US counterparts.

Applicants from Thailand must be Thai citizens aged between 25-35 years old, currently employed and with at least two years of professional experience at the time of application; have a track record of making an impact in their community, institution or company; and be proficient in spoken and written English at the time of application.

1. YSEALI Civil Society Development Fellows
For the fifth year, the Mansfield Center is honored to host the Professional Fellows Program of the U.S. Department of State. The focus for 2016 is Civil Society Development. The program for Burma/Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam is designed to promote mutual understanding, enhance leadership and professional skills, and build sustainable partnerships between emerging leaders from foreign countries and the U.S.
In the 2016 program, 24 Southeast Asians and 10-14 Americans will travel between April 2016 and January 2017. Southeast Asian participants will engage in a 38-day program in the U.S. in one of two cohorts: 12 Southeast Asian Fellows will travel to the U.S. in late April-June, and 12 Southeast Asian Fellows will travel in a second group from late September-November.

2. YSEALI Economic Empowerment Fellows
The American Councils is looking for young professionals interested in coming to the US for a one month professional fellowship. Fellows come from a variety of professional backgrounds including the business world – members who are active in developing corporate social responsibility or efforts to mentor under represented populations in business and other similar themes could be eligible; social innovation and social entrepreneurship organizations; government offices – including local government, regional development agencies, national policy offices, and offices working to increase the presence of underrepresented citizens in the economy; NGOs – including those increasing the role marginalized populations in the economy and workforce, building financial literacy and supporting other important efforts around economic empowerment; and universities - incubators, accelerators, university-based centers or programs focusing on business development, financial literacy, tourism or economic development.

3. YSEALI Environmental Sustainability Fellows (managed by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). Fellows will travel separately to different states but will spend a week in Washington, DC.)
The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is hosting an Environmental Sustainability Professional Fellows Program for 50 professionals from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam and 10 participants from the United States. The program involves knowledge sharing opportunities and exchange visits. The Fellowship builds the capacity of young leaders to address environmental sustainability challenges in their communities, specifically on climate change, sustainable energy and environmental justice. Fellows learn practical skills focusing on these themes while also fostering interaction with leaders from federal, state and local governments; civil society organizations; and private sector entities.
The goal of the program, funded by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is to create institutionalized long-term partnerships that support emerging leaders and their institutions in the ASEAN countries and the U.S. to inspire change in addressing the challenges of environmental sustainability.

4. YSEALI Legislative Process and Governance Fellows (managed by the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL). Fellows will travel separately to different states but will spend a week in Washington, DC.)
Hosted by the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL), the fellowship is designed around the theme of legislative process and governance for international participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. These exchanges include a week of political and policy discussions in Washington, DC, a month-long individual fellowship in an American office, and, at the conclusion of the program, participation in a global Professional Fellows Congress in Washington, DC. Fellows will be mentored by ACYPL alumni and, together, will develop action plans for a series of follow-on activities to be conducted in the fellows’ home country.
