เชื่อว่าหลายคนคงได้ยินข่าวมาแล้วกับการจะอำลาบทบาท Wolverine ครั้งสุดท้ายของ Hugh Jackman
เพราะเขาจะเล่นบทนี้เป็นครั้งสุดท้ายใน Wolverine 3 ซึ่งเป็นหนังที่เป็นผล tie in สุดท้ายระหว่าง X-Men
แต่ในขณะที่ Wolverine จะไม่มีบทบาทใน X-Men ภาคต่อ Apocalypse ซึ่งถ้าหาก FOX จะเดินหน้าไปกับ X-Men ชุดนี้ต่อไป และอนาคตมีการ Tie-In ทั้งในหนังเรื่อง Gambit และ Deadpool ที่จะฉายในเร็วๆนี้เช่นกัน FOX จึงจะต้องเฟ้นหา Wolverine คนใหม่มาสานต่อแน่นอน
Hugh Jackman ได้เสนอไอเดียของเขาหลังจากที่เขาถูกถามประเด็นนี้กับทาง MTV ระหว่างการให้สัมภาษณ์โปรโมตหนังเรื่องใหม่ Pan มีใจความว่า
That’s a great question. I haven’t given it a lot of thought. I’ve been asked the question a lot and I’m always like “I don’t want to make it too easy on the studio to replace me.” I’ve still got one more to do. I’m sure they’re already talking about it, that some actor out there they’ve already said “shhhh… keep it quiet but we want you next.”

Hugh Jackman เอ่ยว่า เขาไม่อยากให้การเฟ้นหานักแสดงมาแทนบท Wolverine นี้จากเขาเป็นเรื่องง่าย แต่แน่นอนว่าทาง studio ได้มีการพูดคุยถึงเรื่องนี้ เกี่ยวกับนักแสดงที่มาแทนบทนี้ แต่เรื่องแบบนี้ก็ต้องปิดปากเงียบไว้ก่อน เพราะยังไงเขายังมีหน้าที่แสดง Wolverine อยู่อีกเรื่องนึง
นักแสดงคนนั้นจะต้องอายุน้อยกว่าผมแน่นอน ผมคิดว่า Tom Hardy น่าจะเป็น Wolverine ได้ดี
