Packaging: I did not expect a packaging like this from CT. I was expecting a glossy-mahogany cardboard box, but this one is a notch thicker than paper. I guess she's going with the 'matte' theme of making the outside package 'matte'. Nonetheless, the rose gold prints are still there and made something bland glamourous and chic.
The first sentence from the description on the back caught my attention "It's a modern-matte illusion: lips appear fuller, wider & lit from within". I mean, it's an oxymoron no? a
matte lipstick that is
lit from within? This probably intrigues a few --if not many--people, but after you see the swatches I'm sure you'd utter a couple of oohhs and aahhs, and maybe nod in agreement.
Now let's see what this beauty is mean of....

Let's get that swatches going (and I think you'll see that this matte lipstick is not drying but rather contains a slight velvet finish to it, hence the 'lit from within' statement)

Glastonberry: "sheer blackcurrant hue is for sex kittens and rock n’ rollers like Rihanna, Grace Jones and Rita Ora".
I agree, 'blackcurrant' would be the word I'd use to describe this shade as well, but I would say there's a little more purple in this shade than a blackcurrant.
Bond Girl: "chic natural berry for sultry and alluring beauties from Halle Berry and Barbara Bach to Olga Kurylenko".
I think it leans more towards old-rose than natural berry.
Very Victoria: "inspired by Victoria Beckham, a suede, taupe nude for those who buck the trend like Brigitte Bardot".
It definitely leans on the cool spectrum, but aside from the taupe undertone it also carries a hint of pink in it as well.
Love Liberty: "inspired by Liberty Ross, a wild rose-flush for wildly glamorous nights a la Jerry Hall and Uma Thurman".
It's a cool deep-red that has a slight hint of berry.
Red Carpet Red: "true ruby red to bestow Hollywood style wow-factor - think Scarlett Johansson, Marilyn Monroe and Michelle Williams".
The color is true to the description, it's gorgeous!
Consistency: Creamy like a typical lipstick...another plus for ease of application!
Pigmentation level: Does not disappoint. It's a matte lipstick so we'd all expect the pigmentation to be more intense than a regular lipstick anyway
Finish: luminous-matte. (yep CT's having fun with the oxymoron). It's essentially a new finish that CT's trying to create. It's a matte that is more alive; it's got that velvet vibe going on.
Effect: Does not flatten your lips out, again, the lit from within effect. It does not dry your lips out, keeps the plumped lips youthful, does not age you, and does not feather.......So let's give CT a round of applause for yet another impressive line of makeup and for making us lov
