Banana republic Madmen collection

กระทู้สนทนา
MADMEN has been critically acclaimed over the course of 7 seasons while the seventh and final season is set to run its course by 2015. It is the greatest TV-drama ever (of course far superior to Thai soap junkies). Clothiers opt to ride on the phenomenon by offering 1960s inspired stuffs. A notable example include Brooks Brothers, a savior of Ivy-league look/American Trad.

Banana republic is no different. So far it has launched two limited edition collection, in collaboration with the MADMEN costume designer.
The first collection epitomise the early 1960s look. Back in the era of institutionalised sexism, women dressed in feminine and classy mode. Men dressed in Ivy league look (mainstream from mid-1950's to 1967) and american continental. Gray/Navy conservative suits, narrow ties and trilby were norm in business setting (particularly in the developed world).

The second collection captured the essence of late 1960s look. Things became groovy and colourful. The rise of mini-skirt and mini-dress was prominent. While the Ivy-league look and other conservative style subsided, men wardrobe was the prelude to outrageous 1970s look.
