Is it difficult to get American citizenship on my own?

First of all, I am sorry for typing this in English. This is because my machine doesn't have Thai. Anyways, this is my story. I'm thinking of going to do higher education, PhD to be precise, in USA and get a job there. I don't have anything against Thailand but I found with the area I studied it is difficult to find a job in Thailand admittedly. So, I'm thinking of going to USA where the maket seems to be bigger, more choices and the tech is emerging. But I barely know about the actual situation there. So, anyone who has recent experience. If you could improvise, I'd like to know how diffult it is to get a citizenship and a job after graduation? And how long would it take? Any step I need to be aware of if I'd like to get a job and stay there? Thank you in advance for every informative reply.
