The Uber Cup was presented by the former English international and All England Champion, Betty Uber, who had the idea of creating
a women's event similar to Thomas Cup for men in New Zealand back in 1950. She also made the draw for the inaugural 1956-1957 tournament, which took place at Lytham St. Annes in Lancashire.
The trophy is a proprietary creation of Mrs. Uber and the exceptional design and the processing by the famous London silversmith Mappin

The cup is made of silver and 50 cm high. The base is mounted a rotating globe , which is crowned by a standing on a badminton
