Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis has admitted that he does not expect to be recalled to the Argentina squad for the World Cup, but says he is ready if coach Alejandro Sabella does select him.
The 33-year-old's most recent international appearance ended in disappointment after he was at fault for Bolivia's goal in a 1-1 draw in November 2011.
The former Bayern Munich man, who has played 30 times for City this season, believes he could do a good job for Argentina in Brazil but does not expect to be included.
"I feel prepared for returning to the national team," Demichelis told Argentinian TV channel TyC Sports.
"I would like to have a kind of personal revenge on the World Cup, I think that as a defender I have the right age.
"Where I see myself during the World Cup? I am 95 per cent I think that I am going to be on holiday."
Demichelis also stated that at some point in the future he was open to a return to Argentinian side River Plate, where he started his career as a 19-year-old.
The centre-back said: "I am totally thankful to the club in which I started my career, I am a River Plate supporter since I was a child and I hope that I can end my career there."
