A source told E! News of the relationship at the time: 'It's pretty serious. They're totally in love.'
It's not the first time that Jodie and Alexandra have been linked, as reports of a romance between he pair first emerged when they were seen together at a technology seminar in Los Angeles this summer.
The duo then fuelled the claims when they went to dinner with friends several days later.
The relationship marks the first serious pairings for both Jodie and Alexandra in several years.
While Jodie and Cydney Bernard, who have two sons together, split in 2008 after a 20-year relationship, Alexandra split from Ellen in 2004 after three years together.
It was claimed at the time that Ellen left Alexandra, who has appeared in shows including The L Word as well as her photography career, for her now-wife, Portia de Rossi.
News of Jodie's romance with Alexandra comes after the actress came out as gay while accepting a lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globe awards in January.
