THAI PEOPLE SPEAKING ENGLISH!

It’s pretty funny when THAI PEOPLE try to speak English. The language barrier is massive. It’s not like the simple English-to-Spanish language barrier, where you just add an ‘a’ to guitar and you’ve got guitara. No, it’s much deeper than that. And when a brave Thai soul tries to cross the language moat that divides us, it begs the question: Why can’t Thai people speak English?

I have seen a lot of Thai people in Japan (and also in my country). But, I still can not figure out why some of them can work and study with their VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY BAD English ability. I know a Thai who is studying as a PhD student, but his English is just as same as a 4-GRADE student in some ELEMENTARY schools in Vietnam. The question is: How can he study as well as write academic papers to get the PhD??? How?
Normally, in order to study abroad, the student should have at least 6.5 IELTS. But with this guy, though he just had 2.5 IELTS or less than @@. I will bet with all of my money, that he will have no way to complete the PhD, unless buying it !!!

"You known what I mean" ---> this is a typical example of a sentence which is usually used by a Thai. It turns out that, he completely does not understand any BASIC ENGLISH GRAMMAR. He has no idea of the difference between three words: KNOW, KNEW and KNOWN!!!

Very disappointed!
