by kelvin@multistars - 2nd April 2013
Heavenly king Jay Chou has spent 1 hundred million yuan to prepare for his 2013 "Opus" world tour concert, a few days ago he filmed the opening for the concert, even the "air" in the clip is expensive! Because there's nothing on the set! All that's in front of him is a wall of green, it turns out it was all to prepare for the 3D animation in post production! The video is filmed like a Hollywood special effects production, they used "Time Track" to complete the 3D magic on the silver screen, the staff positioned 80 cameras in a circle, Jay Chou did his actions hanging from a wire, the 80 cameras filmed from 80 different angles, the finished video will have 3D post production, with just the 1 minute 20 second opening of the concert, he spent 8 million yuan! Every second of footage is money!
"Opus 2013" world tour concert has already been in preparation, Jay Chou started a four day filming on the set, including the opening, mapping and special images, he hopes to give everyone a new technological magic feast! Jay Chou has had a lot of experience with fighting in movies, he is familiar with wiring, 80 cameras filmed him from all different angles, not one angle of him was lost! Because of the need to produce a lot of post production images, the set was all green, even if he had the script in his mind, he's faced with a set with nothing so it's actually not easy to just rely on imagination, Jay Chou himself has gotten much recognition as a director before and to him this is just small fry! No matter, he is modest and shouted: "There's nothing on set, it really tests your imagination!"
Jay Chou admitted he hasn't filmed action scenes for a long time, to film this opening scene he used all his martial arts! While hanging from the wires he didn't follow the script, he really used his imagination to add a lot of creativity in, this was similar to the opening of a movie, after 3D post production, the scenes will hit fans right in the eyeballs! Director Chou hasn't been lazy with the other clips for the concert, for a lot of moves he repeatedly filmed them 300 times until he was happy, showing his perfectionist side!
"Opus 2013" concert is of course not just about special effects, towards the news recently revealed that there would be "musical" performances, he said: "This time I will integrate elements of my movie RooFToP into the concert, because RooFToP has a bit of a musical feeling, so the dance teachers will film the scenes with me in front of a green screen beforehand." He smiled saying: "The scene is there is nothing, like walking up to the second floor..., opening the window....,looking at the street below, so we have to rely on imagination, because there's no sense of reality, so it really tests our imagination." It's Jay Chou's first time taking on a musical, singing, dancing and acting, to this type of performance does he have confidence? He said: "I want to give myself a different challenge! I hope I can give everyone who comes to see the concert not only joy in listening but also in seeing and for it to be better than the last concert!"
Jay Chou's "Opus 2013" world tour concert will be held on the 7th and 8th of September in The Taipei Arena, tickets will be on sale in box offices around the country, tickets for the Taipei concert will be sold on the 6th of April at 1pm on ibon's website
